Movin' Out!

Well, I am officially all moved out of my first apartment! All of our stuff is in the garage of the new place until we can move it into the house on the 1st. So I'm "homeless" for a week. AKA, living at home for a week, moving stuff into the house, then going to camp in two more weeks. Anyway, I'm exhausted! Moving is so tiring!

Devin and I have been masters at moving stuff since 2008, when my dad finished my new bedroom in the basement. Hahaha. I'd post something a little more recent, except I was a little too busy with the move to take pictures. :P

I am way tired. But it's nice to have the initial move over, now it's just moving the stuff into the house from the garage. And then it's camp! Yay!

Well, I think I'm going to go to bed soon, ya know, since it's only 9:30 pm. So late. Haha. But seriously. I am so tired. I'm going to crash as soon as I hit my bed!

Good night everyone!

Bring on summer!

Well, as of yesterday when I ended up not having to work (one event was cancelled, the other didn't need any tech equipment), I am officially done with my junior year of college! Is it just me, or does college seem to go way faster than high school did? Maybe I'm imagining things. Or maybe it's because I get to take things I'm interested in. Who knows? All I know is that I'm ready to head to camp for the summer! :) I can't wait for all the shenanagans, bonfires, kayak trips, OA ceremonies, and of course, Chaco tans! Ah, I just can't wait. I leave on the 10th.

Foodie Friday: Jalapeno Popper Dip

These photos are a little old, but this recipe is still awesome and I still love to make it whenever we have a get-together or party. Or just for fun. ;) This tastes the best if you eat the day after you make it, since the jalapeno juices soak into the cream cheese and it's full of flavor. For added heat we like to add in a Serrano pepper.

Ingredients:
2 (8 oz) packages of cream cheese
1 cup mayonnaise
1 can (4 oz) green chiles
4-6 jalapeno peppers, diced or 1/2 cup of diced canned jalapenos
1 small serrano pepper, diced (optional)
1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese (divided)

Prep:
Preheat oven to 350ยบ F
Mix cream cheese, mayo, green chiles, peppers and half of the Parmesan cheese together. Put it in a baking dish and top with remaining Parmesan cheese. Place in the oven and bake for approximately 15 minutes, or until it's bubbly and the cheese is melted and slightly browned.
Serve with tortilla chips.

Enjoy! :)

Photoshoot: Chelsie and Rachel

I needed to do one more photoshoot for my Fashion and Glamour Photography class. I asked Chelsie and Rachel to be my models and we went off to Riverside Park. It was a lot of fun and I got some great shots! Here are a few of my favorites.

Old summer photos

I was cleaning out my SD cards and I came across some photos from two summers ago. I had already saved most of them on my computer and external hard drive, but these ones I think I just glanced over since I had taken so many. I thought I'd share a few since I'm in super summer mode (one more week and I'll be done with school for the summer!)

A cicada in our backyard at home. I'm not much of a bug person, especially large ones. They tend to freak me out. But I'd never seen a cicada before and I thought this little guy was pretty cute!

A frog sitting on the Coke machine at camp. At night the frogs like to sit on the side of the Coke machine. I'm not exactly sure why, maybe because it's warm and the temperature can get pretty cold at night, especially next to the lakes.

One of the hundreds of photos I've taken during our Order of the Arrow ceremonies. I thought this one was really cool with the motion blur and the kids in the background. I also love the colors.

My dog Keeley splashing in the river at Owen Park. We like to go for a ride with the pups to Eau Claire and have picnics at Owen Park. Keeley loves the water, she'd go swimming all day long if she could. :)

I am now even more excited for summer to get here! I am super excited for camp and moving into our house (I'm going to have five roommates next semester! That shall be an interesting adventure! Haha!)

Last Thing Thursdays

The Life of the Wife

This week I'm linking up, for the first time, with Jenna from The Life of the Wife. I always thought this looked fun, so here are some of my "last things" this week!

Last thing I bought: A pair of prescription sunglasses from bestpriceglasses.com

I don't wear contacts. Ever. I've never worn them in fact. I guess I just have one of those faces that looks better with glasses. I realized that going eleven years without sunglasses was probably a bad idea, so I decided to order a pair of prescription ones. I was going to get some from goggles4u.com but when I added the frames I wanted to my cart, they were sold out! Bummer! But then I found this site where I got these lovely frames with brown gradient lenses for at total of $16 with shipping! I can't wait to get them and rock them all summer long!

Last thing I ate: Belgian waffle with strawberries and whipped cream.
Healthy I know. I ate breakfast with some people from work this morning in the Student Center. Breakfast options at school are limited when you are a non-egg eater. I normally eat at home since the food at school is expensive when you live off campus.

I wish mine looked this good. Photo from: she-fit.com

Ooo look at that. In the middle of me writing this, the storm alarms are going off. Luckily, it's only for a thunderstorm, I'm already inside my apartment and I don't have class until 1:25, which by then it will hopefully be over. Otherwise I'll be donning my rain jacket and hiking to class. Eh. It's nothing camp hasn't already prepared me for. I took Weather Safety Training twice. Haha.

Last thing I worked on: My final animation. I'm almost done with it, which is good since we are watching what we have finished tomorrow and then it's due Thursday by 4 pm. I'll get it done in time. Here's a peek at the style/landscape.

Last thing I listened to: Marina and the Diamonds - "Homewrecker"

So there you go. A few of my lasts and a storm warning. I'm going to go watch the radar and do some more homework. Only a few more days of classes left, then a week of finals and I am done with my junior year of college on the 14th! So exciting!

Have a great day everyone!
